Who makes Dulcie May products?

Dulcie May is a one maker brand run by the Shoemaker Ren Cuming. All products are created with the utmost care here in my studio, with a cup of tea at my elbow and birdsing to cheer me along. I have been working leather for 23 years now and I still love every minute!


What leathers do you use?

All Dulcie May products are made with premium leather hides from gold rated Italian tanneries. Created using age old techniques, these materials are a canvas of their origin. Natural markings are worked into each item embracing the hides individuality to create a unique product.

What soling materials do you use?

Dulcie May handmade shoes use Vibram, a durable, highly flexible, lightweight, cushioned, soling made in Italy. Zero drop soling is offered as standard but you can request a shallow heel too. The full leather upper will allow your foot to bed into the sole creating its own unique cradle, offering glove like comfort.
When the time comes your footwear can be resoled by your local cobbler thus extending the life of your shoes and avoiding landfill sites.

Do you post Worldwide?

Unfortunately I am unable to post to European countries. Available destinations are shown at checkout, these include UK (including Northern Ireland), USA, Canada, Australia & New Zealand. Shipping rates are shown at checkout and vary for each item. Please note, International customers are responsible for any custom fees incurred on arrival.

Where is my parcel?

See individual listings for Made-to-order dispatch times. Tracking details are sent at the time of posting but if you do encounter a problem please contact me. If your parcel arrives damaged DO NOT throw away the packaging! Photograph the parcel before unpacking as proof. Without proof you will not be able to submit a claim to the post office.

I have changed my mind, can I return my order?

All custom / made to order sales are final and are non refundable. Incredibly expensive materials alongside hours of painstaking work have gone into completing your order. Stock items can be returned unworn, unused and in the original packaging at customers expense within 14 days. Refunds are subject to terms above and are not guaranteed.


Do you sell ready made?

Yes! I make limited amounts of ready to post stock. These can be purchased via my Etsy shop.
